Pasta With Ricotta Sauce

  • 1 pound bowtie or fusilli pasta
  • 1, 15-ounce container Ricotta Cheese (part-skim or whole)
  • 1 cup prepared pasta sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 ounces (1/4, 1-pound package) Dragone® Mozzarella Cheese, shredded

Directions

Cook the pasta in a pot of boiling salted water according to the package directions. Drain it in a colander, shaking once or twice to drain completely. Then, return the hot pasta to the cooking pot.

Stir in the Ricotta Cheese, pasta sauce and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer the mixture to a microwave-safe casserole dish. Sprinkle the shredded Dragone® Mozzarella Cheese evenly over the pasta.

Microwave on high power until the Dragone® Mozzarella Cheese topping is melted, 1 ½ to 2 minutes. Serve hot.
