Fried Fresh Mozzarella

  • 1 - 8oz. package of Dragone Fresh Mozzarella
  • Frying oil
  • Extra Virgin Olive oil
  • 2 pinches of black pepper
  • 1 cup flour (for dredging)
  • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs (for dredging)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ cup grated Romano cheese
  • Balsamic glaze
  • 1 cup Arugula (or any greens mix)
  • Sea salt 

Directions

Prep

Premix eggs with grated cheese, black pepper and parsley.  Cut  Dragone Fresh Mozzarella into 4 thick sections and then cut sections in half (8 pieces).

Coat a sauté pan with frying oil heat to 350.  Dredge the Dragone Fresh Mozzarella pieces in the flour.  Place floured Mozzarella pieces in egg wash.  Dredge Mozzarella pieces in the bread crumbs.  Place the coated Mozzarella in the heated sauté pan.  Cook on both sides until golden brown and softened.

Cooking tip: (Let the coated Mozzarella cook and turn just once).

 

On a large plate place a mound of Arugula (about a cup).  Drizzle Arugula with olive oil and some sea salt to taste.  Place the cooked Dragone Mozzarella pieces around the Arugula.

Finish with a light drizzle of balsamic glaze
