Ingredients

  • 1 -  8oz. package of Dragone Fresh Mozzarella
  • Frying oil
  • 6 pieces sliced Italian bread 
  • 2 pinches of black pepper
  • 1 cup flour (for dredging)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ cup grated Romano cheese 
  • 1 Roasted Red pepper cut into 6 slices or small jar of roasted peppers

Prep

Pre heat oven to 350.  Premix eggs with grated cheese, black pepper and parsley.  Cut 3 thick slices of Dragone Fresh Mozzarella.  Cut 6 slices of Italian bread at an angle.

Roast red pepper and slice into 6 pieces or use a jar of Roasted red Peppers.

 

Directions

Coat a sauté pan with frying oil and heat.  Lay out 3 slices of bread and place a piece of fresh mozzarella on top.  Cover each with a slice of bread and press firmly.

Dredge in flour on all sides then dip in egg wash.

 

Place coated bread and mozzarella in hot sauté pan and cook on both sides and edges until golden brown. (Easy tip: use tongs to hold bread when doing edges).

Place toasted bread on a pan in oven at 350 for 10 min.  Remove from oven cut the three breads in half and plate with a strip of roasted pepper on top.  Serve warm.
